Four More Flathead Valley Event Calendars Are in FoxTrail

I’ve been working through a list of Flathead Valley calendars that really ought to be in FoxTrail. This batch turned out to be a pretty good cross-section of the place: civic meetings, business events, live music over dinner, and family weekends by the lake.

As of this update, FoxTrail is pulling events from four more sources:

• Flathead Democrats
• Montana West Economic Development
• Freestone Restaurant
• Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp

That brings the source list to 14. More importantly, it fills in a few kinds of events that were too easy to miss unless you already knew exactly which website to check.

The four new ones

Flathead Democrats

Flathead Democrats publishes a busy calendar of candidate events, local meetings, volunteer days, public discussions, parades, fundraisers, and other civic gatherings around the valley.

FoxTrail already included the Flathead Republicans calendar, so this was an obvious gap. This isn’t an endorsement of either party. Public events are public events, and I’d rather make the civic calendar useful than leave half of it out.

Montana West Economic Development

Montana West Economic Development has a surprisingly broad calendar. It includes business workshops, job fairs, networking events, chamber gatherings, and practical programs for people running or starting businesses here.

This is the kind of stuff that can be genuinely useful and still slip past you because it lives on a site you might only visit when you need a specific service.

Freestone Restaurant

Freestone Restaurant is the fun one in this batch. Its calendar is full of evening live music—the sort of easy Thursday-night plan you tend to hear about on Friday morning.

Those events now have a better chance of showing up while you’re actually deciding what to do.

Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp

Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp runs a lot more than summer camp. Its calendar includes family weekends, retreats, outdoor programs, workshops, seasonal gatherings, and events at its Lakeside campus throughout the year.

It adds a different slice of the valley to FoxTrail, especially for families and anyone looking for something a little farther from town.

Four sources isn’t the finish line

Fourteen sources is a solid step forward, but I don’t want to pretend it means every event in the Flathead is suddenly covered.

There are still good local calendars that aren’t in FoxTrail. There are also plenty of events announced through a poster, an email list, or a social post without ever landing on a proper public calendar. Some of those will always be hard to catch.

The goal isn’t to replace every local website. I just want FoxTrail to give you a decent answer when you ask, “What’s going on this weekend?” Every event still points back to the original publisher when you need registration, updates, or the full details.

A small cleanup on the home page

I also cleaned up the source grid while adding these four. The new publishers are marked New, and the logos now stay within a consistent size instead of letting one extra-wide image take over its cell.

It’s a small thing, but the list looks a lot better now—and there is still an open spot at the end for whatever comes next.
