Birding at Pine Grove Pond
Join Conservation and Education Coordinator, Jess Garby, on a relaxed and short bird walk at Pine Grove Pond on Saturday, July 18 from 8-9am. This field trip is perfect for beginning birders, families, or someone looking for a short but sweet morning walk. Expect to see Osprey, Bald Eagles, Great Blue Heron, Red-winged Blackbirds, and a variety of waterfowl species. Mid-July is quieter for bird song, but there's still a good chance of spotting a variety of species. Pine Grove is a 5 acre pond, 3 miles northeast of Kalispell off Rose Crossing east of Whitefish Stage Road and just west of the Whitefish River. Plan to walk less than a mile. Be prepared with bug spray and dress for the weather. Please register by emailing Jess at Jess@FlatheadAudubon.org
