Join FAS President Darcy Thomas to watch migrating Golden Eagles from the comfort of your camp chair at the Lake
McDonald Lodge parking lot by Jammer Joe's. Learn about the eagles' migration routes and patterns. Golden Eagles
migrate high over the McDonald Valley from late September to late October, with numbers peaking in early to mid
October. Dozens of eagles and other raptors may be observed in a single hour, as this is one of the best Golden Eagle
migration routes in Montana. There is no need to register for this trip. Just show up at the Lake McDonald Lodge parking lot. Binoculars and/or a spotting scope are essential, as the birds are fairly high in the sky. Also, bring a camp chair, hot
drinks, and a warm blanket to cover your legs, as this "birding from a chair" outing has the potential to be
